Cayetana Wines Vino Blanca 2023 is a clean and bright wine with an abundance of tropical and orchard fruits, along with subtle hints of herby and fresh vegetable notes. The palate is lovely and ripe with juicy fruit flavors and a little herbaceous bite. Soft and well-balanced by great acidity, this wine is a lovely accompaniment to young fresh cheeses and white meats. Cayetana is a rare, indigenous grape variety championed by Luis Merino, who launched the project to celebrate its unique characteristics. The vines, over 50 years old, are located in the Tierra de Barros subzone of Extremadura, in southwestern Spain, near the Portuguese border. The wine is made from a blend of grapes, with thirty percent barrel fermented to result in a wine that is intense and rounded, with a perfect balance of weight and freshness.
