Domaine de Boischampt Beaujolais-Jullié Blanc 2023 is a very classy Chardonnay to be treated with the same respect as its northerly neighbours in the Côte de Beaune. Bright and aromatic with plenty of apples, peach and lemon on the nose with subtle white flower and nutty nuances. The palate is surprisingly creamy and soft - brilliantly textured and mineral. Move over Mâconnais, Beaujolais blanc is a style on the up. This wine is created by Domaine de Boischampt, a property that takes full advantage of its heritage, with 15 hectares in production on a pristine terroir of blue stone soils. The winemaker, Thibaud Baudin, has made the bold decision of planting three hectares of vines to Chardonnay rather than Gamay. The wine is certified organic, under new ownership since 2018.
