Aduki also known as adzuki beans are a small red bean with a typically sweet and nutty flavour. Aduki beans are distinctively common in Asia and are a frequent player in oriental cuisine, making very good bean sprouts. They have a typical cooking time requiring approximately 20 minutes on heat. Cool, lesser known trick with adzuki beans is cooking white rice with them, infusing their deep maroon colour in the rice making for a visually impressive and equally delicious meal. Aduki beans are absolutely packed with nutrients, in particular, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, potassium, fibre, manganese and b vitamins niacin, thiamine and riboflavin.
